Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PactPost's gratitude cards and New Year pacts.

What is PactPost?

PactPost is a small ritual site that helps people create meaningful connections through two types of symbolic cards:

  • Thank You, World - Gratitude postcards to express appreciation to people, places, or experiences
  • New Year Pact - Symbolic agreement cards between 2-4 participants for shared intentions and commitments

Are New Year Pacts legally binding?

No, New Year Pacts are not legally binding. They are symbolic agreements designed to celebrate intentions, strengthen relationships, and mark meaningful commitments between participants. These are ritual tools for personal and relational expression, not legal documents.

Who can see my card or pact?

When creating a card or pact, you can choose whether it's public or non-public:

  • Public cards appear on the main pages and can be viewed by anyone with the link
  • Non-public cards are only accessible to people who have the direct link

By default, cards are set to public to help build a global gratitude wall, but you can change this setting at any time.

Can I delete my card or pact later?

Yes, you can request to have your card or pact hidden or completely removed at any time. You can ask us to hide or remove a card or pact by contacting us via the dedicated contact form or email address provided on the site. We respect your right to control your content and will process removal requests promptly.

What data is stored for cards and pacts?

We store only the content you explicitly provide:

  • For gratitude cards: recipient name, your message, optional topic, and location (country/city)
  • For pacts: title, participant names, commitments, optional message, and location
  • Creation timestamps and visibility preferences

We don't collect personal information beyond what's necessary to create and display your cards. There's no tracking-heavy advertising system or unnecessary data collection.

Is there an account system?

Currently, PactPost operates without mandatory accounts. You can create and share cards using simple links. This keeps the experience lightweight and focused on the ritual itself. We may add optional account features in the future for enhanced functionality, but the core experience will remain accessible without registration.

How do I report inappropriate content?

If you encounter content that violates our community guidelines (such as hate speech, illegal content, or harassment), please contact us immediately via the contact form or email address provided on the site. We take reports seriously and will review and remove inappropriate content promptly.
